With no idea what to expect and a strong desire to acquire better French language skills, I headed off to Ile de Ré.  What a surprise!  Clarisse is warm and welcoming, but charm was not all she had to offer.  I found her teaching style on-point, gentle and forgiving, most importantly skilled, clearly an experienced teacher.  

 

Clarisse was organized and focused on lessons, but equally willing to share a vast knowledge of the area, especially helpful when engaged in activities.  Equally shared was hospitality with her family, including her husband, Claude, and her lovely parents.

 

Immersion on Ile de Ré is an experience I'd recommend to anyone with a desire to learn French, and a bit of history along the way, with a friendly and skilled teacher.
